"Destiny - When God's preparation meets opportunity."

Destiny

Greetings, my friends. Tony Williams here. I wanted to share something: some good news, personal testimony of faith, and a powerful encounter with God that I believe will inspire and encourage you.

Have you ever had a situation where something good was happening, and you just wanted to share it with someone? That's what happened to me today. When preparation meets opportunity, we find our destiny. Today is a testament to the inspiring power of God's plan when we are prepared and open to His opportunities.

Twenty-four years ago, the Lord brought me to a city. He directed me to join a church, which I did. I knew no one in the town. 

I knew no one in the church except that I sensed God was directing me to come to this city and join this church. Today, Friday, I went to the church because I have a speaking opportunity on Sunday. As I walked to the meeting location where I would be speaking, I thought about the first time I was in the church. My purpose for going was to survey the gathering area before the meeting to sit in prayer and listen to what God wanted to say to me. 

Today, while sitting there, alone with God, in the location where I'll be speaking on Sunday, God spoke to me. And He said to me, "How did you get here, Tony?" And I thought, "Lord, I'm 74 years old." And He said, "Yes, I chose you before you were ever born."

"I created you for this good work that you are preparing for on Sunday. You got here because of Me." And I sat there in the room by myself, just talking with the Lord, reflecting, and rehearsing the opportunity to share with leaders what God was speaking to me and telling me to share with them. It was a wonderful time for me!

Then God said, "Why are you here now, Tony?" And I thought, "Lord, I'm here because I want to do my best. And I'm here because someone invited me." And he said, "Yes, you were asked. And the invitation was from My hand."

As I began to think about it, I realized that I've been in this city for 24 years and attending this church for 24 years, and God has blessed me in ways that I can hardly count in every area of my life.

Journey Marker (Insight from God): And what do I learn from this that I want to share with you? When God leads you, sometimes it may not be clear where He's leading you or even why He's leading you. 

Our responsibility is to walk by faith and not by sight - trusting, obeying, and relying totally upon our God. I could list numerous blessings that the Lord has given me, but today was a particularly special one. He said, "For 74 years, I've been preparing you for the opportunity that you'll have on Sunday. And what will you do, Tony?" the LORD asks me. 

And this is what I said, "Father God, I give you all the thanksgiving, praise, all the glory, Abba, Father. Great is your faithfulness, Lord, unto me!" So, my friends, wherever you are, don't despise the day of small beginnings. Let's all express our heartfelt thanks to God for the victories He has won for us on our journey and all He is doing for us now. 

Focus your faith on God's faithfulness, follow Him step by step, and rejoice in what He's doing in your life. I look forward to sharing more with you in my next blog. And until then, let's all eagerly anticipate the victory that God has in store for us!
