What would you consider the four most significant elements in your life?
Our lives are overflowing with activities. We are constantly engaging in tasks, requirements, and to-do lists that fill our days.
All of us have many things we must do to earn money, pay for living expenses, reach goals we set for ourselves, and fulfill our duties in various other activities.
How do we manage to keep our emotional well-being intact amidst the hustle and bustle of our daily lives?
This morning, I noticed a notation in my Bible dated "10/3/16"
"4 Most Important things in life". The notation made me stop and consider what I wrote nearly nine years ago. Beside the notation was this message.
"Remember this, fix it in mind, take it to heart, you rebels. Remember the former things, those of long ago; I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like me. I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come. I say: My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please." Isaiah 46:8-18
Reading the message helped me center myself and enjoy peace and joy, despite my hectic schedule and numerous activities that required my attention.
I recall when I attempted to manage life and career without giving much attention to God. It was hard. I was the "rebel." Fortunately, over time, I have come to appreciate the transformative power of intentionally prioritizing what is most important in life, particularly spiritual values.
My list, which initially had four elements on October 3, 2016, has now expanded to six.
God's will
God's plan
God's purpose
God's faithfulness
God's glory
God's promises to me.
Please take a few minutes for reflection and write your list.
Love.
Tony.
